We want to give some tips and words of encouragement and make sure you were staying as healthy as possible. Focus on the following during these trying times:
Eat healthfully: eat a high nutrient, high fiber, low-calorie whole food plant-based diet to maximize your immunity. And garlic daily will help!
Hydrate: drink 8-10 glasses of cleansing water a day.
Exercise: move at least 30 minutes per day. This will help your immune system fight off illness. Get up every hour for 10 minutes and move if sitting for long periods. Move (ie walk) for at least 15 minutes after eating each meal.
Get outside: enjoy the sun. If you are not sick, we suggest you take midday walks in nature but maintain 6 feet of physical distance from others when doing so. Vitamin D and other aspects of appropriate sun exposure help your immunity immensely.
Avoid toxins: do not damage your lungs with tobacco, vaping, or other inhaled substances. Avoid alcohol which can decrease your immunity. Stay away from foods that harm your health.
Rest: get plenty of sleep (7-9 hours). Rest your belly by not eating unhealthy foods and not eating for 12 or more hours at a time (ie don’t eat for several hours before bedtime and that will give you a good amount of time for your gut to recover and repair).
Decrease stress: by maintaining contact (by phone or online) with family and friends. And practice mindfulness at every opportunity. De-stress with laughter and meditation
Find a purpose: be there to support and help others to get through these hard days.
Be grateful: don't forget to smile and be thankful for how lucky we are to have caring people around us.
